Bill Hyde was born on March 9, 1930 in Van Buren, AR to Carmon and Tessie Hyde. They moved to Porterville, CA where they had a family farming business. Bill was a very gifted baseball player at Porterville High. He signed a professional baseball contract with the St. Louis Browns right after high school. He played until his pitching arm gave out. At that time his family had moved to Oklahoma City. He met Kitty Lee Lambeth and they subsequently married on December 15, 1952. Bill loved his sports and his involvement with the Travelers Protective Association where he was State Secretary and a national officer. He loved to play golf and watch Thunder basketball and OU Sooner football. He founded Hyde Auto Service at NW 12th and May Ave in 1959 and retired from that in 1995. His son, Mark, still owns and continues to run the business today. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Jenks and his sister, Ruby. He is survived by his precious wife, Kitty, of the home. They would have been married 61 years on December 15th. He is also survived by his sister, Eunice Funderburk of Bowie, MD. Other survivors include: His daughter, Beth Bridges of MWC, and her children, son Josh Vanderburg and wife Michelle, their children Jaxon, Major and Rylee of Tuttle, OK; son, Jake Bridges & his fianc Meghan and daughter Liz Bridges all of MWC; His daughter, Lisie Meadows and her husband Doug of OKC and their children, son Max Radcliffe and his fianc Sam and their daughter Ellie Rose, and daughter, Jesse Belle Radcliffe; His son, Mark Hyde and wife Shawna of Oklahoma City and their children, son Mark Hyde II and his wife Candice and children Will and Cooper and in wonderful anticipation of a daughter in a pending adoption of a daughter from the Congo, Norman, OK; daughter Heather Fowler and husband Stephen and their children, sons Camden and Grayson; Daughter Dana Burrows and her husband Aaron and son Henry of Owasso and their son T.J. Shawn and his fianc Kristen of Oklahoma City. He is also survived by Butch Yanik and wife Paula, who he thought of as a son, of Yukon, OK. He will be dearly missed by all. The family would like to thank the staff at Grace Living Center in Bethany and the staff at Integris Baptist for their care and help in his last few days. There will be a memorial service at a later date. We will miss you Dad.
