Billy E. Davis went to be with the Lord on Aug. 24, 2012. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends. He was born on Nov. 7, 1931, in Porter, OK to the late James Davis and Maybelle Bradley. He would proudly tell you that his greatest accomplishment was marrying the love of his life, Dorothy, 62 years ago. If you knew Bill, you knew how much he loved his kids, his family, his friends and his dogs. He would tell everyone, "our door is always open, just come on in." He loved to sing and play the guitar, and enjoyed traveling to Blue Grass Festivals. Bill had an enormous and compassionate heart, and no one knew it any better than the Daily Living Center where he would perform with his band and close every show singing "I'll Fly Away." He was the founder of AAA Striping & Paving Company. He was preceded in death by his sister, RuthAnn Fancher and brother, James Davis. He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy; daughters, Carylon Benson and Vicci Read; son, Billy Davis, Jr.; sister, Virginia Keathley; brothers, Dwayne and Arnold Bradley; and a host of family of friends. Bill was a proud grandpa whose greatest joy was spending time with his 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday, 11am-9pm at Mercer-Adams with the family present from 4-6pm. Funeral services will be held at Mercer-Adams Chapel at 11am on Monday, August 27, 2012 with burial to follow in Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
