Obituary

Billie Fritch, 92, passed away January 21, 2022 in Oklahoma City. She was born January 31, 1929 in Chickasha, OK to Joseph L and Lulu E (Small) Fritch. She was a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School in Wichita, KS. Billie lived in Branson, MO following graduation and worked at a sporting goods store. Later, she moved to Oklahoma City, first working for Andy Anderson Sporting Goods and then McKesson Pharmaceutical Distribution, retiring in 1992 after 40 years of service. She was a devoted fan of OU Sooners Football, attending many games over the years as well as "coaching" from her chair at home. Billie was a 55-year member of Beta Zeta chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha. She served as President of the Oklahoma State Council of ESA in 1976-1977. Her favorite ESA volunteer activity was serving as a reading tutor for 1st and 2nd graders at Sequoyah Elementary School. In her 18 years as a reading tutor, Billie impacted the lives of many youngsters. Billie volunteered with TRIAD, the Oklahoma County District Attorneys office, AARP, and the Salvation Army. She was a member of International Training in Communication and American Business Womens Association. She was a longtime member of Mayflower Congregational UCC Church. Through her church, Billie volunteered for Meals on Wheels and the 363 Group which partners with the Oklahoma City Homeless Alliance. Billie was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Dorothy Holmes; and her nephew, Bruce Holmes. She is survived by her nephew, David Holmes and his wife Sammie of Tulsa, OK. Graveside services will be Thursday, January 27, 11:00am at Rose Hill Cemetery, Chickasha, Oklahoma. .
