Rev. Bill Thomas passed away December 17, 2009. He was born January 11, 1920 in Cache, Oklahoma to James and Sally Leu Thomas. He worked for North American Aviation before and after serving his country. While making his home in Gardena, California, Bill felt called to the ministry. He was educated at Walnut Ridge Jr. College, Oklahoma Baptist University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary before completing 56 1/2 years of pastoral ministry. He also enjoyed gardening, westerns, car races and OU sports. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, 4 sisters, daughter Sally Ruth, son Timothy Don, and granddaughter Stephanie Thomas Peck. He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Ruth; son Mike Thomas and wife Mary Ann of Edmond, daughter Deborah Peck and husband Steve of Norman; daughter-in-law Dorothy Thomas of Oklahoma City; grandchildren Brian Thomas and wife Kristi, Jason Thomas and wife Angie, Joshua Thomas and wife Jaimee, Dr. Tim Thomas and wife Rachael, Dalania Hart and husband Christian, Cristie Crisp; and great-grandchildren Cooper, Carson, Maylee, Olivia, Landon, Karli Ann and Gage. Services will be Saturday, December 19, 1:00 p.m. at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Chapel Hill.
