"Wild Bill" was born October 19, 1925 in Oklahoma City. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mom, 3 older brothers, oldest son, and great-granddaughter. He is survived by son, Tom and wife Becky, 2 grandchildren, Chris and Heather, and 2 younger sisters, Wilma Snowbarger and Delma Tracy. Bill said he was the luckiest man on earth having 2 great wives, Edith and Georgia Montgomery, who preceded him in death. Bill was a Christian man, loving father and great great grandfather. He loved taking his grandchildren on many vacations. He enjoyed playing baseball while growing up, playing ball for a few local breweries, but never made it to the major leagues. At the age of 91, he could still throw a knuckle ball. During WWII, he was a paratrooper in the Army, completing 31 jumps. He said he jumped once and was shoved out of the plane 30 other times. He complained about the planes wings flapping too much and his wife said she was a Rosie Riveter that installed those wings. All Montgomery men were considered car crazy. His car geneology consisted of over 200 cars and trucks. He liked big motors and going fast. His last ticket received was clocked at 135 mph. He once raced an F-4 jet at T.A.F.B. in his 1969 Olds 442, saying he led the first 600 ft. (got in a little trouble). Bill retired from Tinker at the age of 53. He helped his son, Tom and family with 2 businesses, the last being Central Power Equipment since 1985. Bill enjoyed the close friendship of Willa Knight his last few years of life. Bill was loved by anyone who met him and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Life well done, Dad, your loving family.Viewing will be Thursday, 9am-9pm, with family present from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams.
