Bill (William) I. McDowell, Petroleum Engineer, died September 12, 2009. He was born in Oklahoma City, grew up in West Texas and graduated from Texas Tech. He loved to ski, bowl and golf, but his passion and ministry was in music. He played his TUBA in the Oklahoma City Symphonic Band, the Friends Band, The Gentlemen of Dixie -a Dixieland jazz band, church orchestra, and The Glory Gang -a church nursing home ministry. He was a member of Northwest Baptist Church and participated in the tutoring program, choir and hand bell choir. He is survived by his wife, Nell; one brother; and two sisters. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at Northwest Baptist Church, 3030 N.W. 23rd St., Oklahoma City, OK 73107.
