Bill M. Clifton was born on September 22, 1936 in Mountain View, Oklahoma. The son of Pearl and Benjamin Clifton, he was raised primarily in the Baptist Home for Children. He died peacefully in his sleep on January 20, 2010 at his home in Oklahoma City. A memorial service in his honor will be held Thursday, January 28, 6:00 p.m. at Mercer Adams Funeral Home, 3925 N. Asbury in Bethany.
Bill lived a full life and his talents encompassed a variety of skills. He was a barber, a butcher (some have said that he occasionally combined those skills) a sailor, an avid golfer and fisherman, and he enjoyed a successful career in real estate. Most importantly, Bill was an accomplished artist whose artwork has been shown in a variety of venues across several states. He will be remembered by his family as a wonderful brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, all who believed that he was the funniest man who ever lived.
Bills wife, Jeanna, preceded him in death in 2002. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Teri and Adam Davis; four grandchildren, Lexie, Maddie, Waverly and Noah; his sisters Nadine Spivey and Jean Glasgow; his brother Harold; and many nieces and nephews who will miss him terribly, especially Patty. Godspeed Bill. We will miss you.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Baptist Home for Children.
