Bich
Pham
Oct 20, 1934 — Sep 19, 2025
Bich Ngoc Pham was born on October 20, 1934 in Bui Chu, Vietnam. He passed away
on September 19, 2025 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
After the Geneva Accords of 1954 divided Vietnam into a communist North and non-
communist South, Bich married his wife, Nhien Bui, and fled south to Saigon where
eight of their children were born. In order to escape the political and religious
persecution of the communist regime, even though his wife was pregnant with their
ninth child, they decided to leave everything behind in Vietnam in 1975 to secure a
better future for their children. Several days before the Fall of Saigon in April of 1975,
they departed for Guam aboard a United States Air Force C-130 Hercules. They stayed
a few weeks in the refugee center at Andersen Air Force Base in Guam prior to their
arrival at one of four refugee centers in the United States in Fort Chaffee, Arkansas
where their ninth child was born. In October of 1975, they left Fort Chaffee and settled
in Oklahoma City where their tenth child was born the following year.
In addition to his courage and perseverance, Bich Pham will always be remembered for
his devotion to his wife of 71 years and their children.
