Beverly Lois McAllister Parker, 81, long-time resident of Bethany, Oklahoma passed away on February 25, 2014 at the Concordia Skilled Nursing facility in Oklahoma City. Beverly was born on July 10, 1932 to Earnest P. McAllister and Margaret Toothaker McAllister in Dyer, Arkansas. Beverly attended public schools, graduating from Alma High School. She attended Southern Nazarene University where she earned the Bachelor of Science degree in Business in 1954. She married Robert Louis Parker on July 10, 1954 at her home church, Maple Shade Church of the Nazarene in Arkansas. During sixty years of marriage, Beverly and Robert resided in Ada, Oklahoma; Pasadena, California; San Diego, California; and Bethany, Oklahoma. Beverly was a life-time member of the Church of the Nazarene, serving in many capacities as a board member, teacher, missionary society president and women's fellowship committee member. She was known as the "Gift Lady" for her ministry of giving gifts to persons attending women's retreats and similar events over a span of thirty years in Pasadena, San Diego, and Bethany. Beverly's love and devotion to her Lord, Jesus Christ was the only passion which surpassed her love and dedication to her extended family. Modeling nurturing love, she was the exemplary mother and grandmother. Beverly is survived by her husband, Robert and their four children: Robert Parker, Jr of Pasadena, California; David Parker of Fresno, California; Pamela Oden of San Diego, California; and Timothy Parker of Burlington, Vermont. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Alice Smee of Chula Vista, California, Linda Rich of La Jolla, California, LaVonne Wadley of Richmond, Virginia, and brothers, Bryan McAllister and Germerial Warrick of Fort Smith, Arkansas. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, Madge, sisters, Barbara and Virginia, and brother, Joe.
