Betty J. McDonald, 74, of Bethany, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday morning at her home. Betty was born August 30, 1937 in Custer County to William and Esther Matthes. She graduated from Custer City/Independence High School. After graduation she moved to Oklahoma City where she met her future husband, Bill McDonald. Betty was retired from the State of Oklahoma, Corporation Commission. Betty loved her family but foremost her Lord Jesus Christ. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother of five cherished grandsons and two great-grandchildren. Betty was a member of First Baptist Church of Bethany where she was very involved in the choir, WMU, Sidewalk Ministries and the clothing room as well as other ministries. She was blessed to have so many dear friends and will be truly missed by all who knew her. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Survivors include daughters, Ginger Reichel and husband, Ron of Blanchard; Lori Kranz and husband, Mike of Rogers, AR; grandchildren, Chris Reichel and wife, Sherri, Greg Reichel and wife, Ashley, Cody, Dennis and Evan Kranz; great-grandchildren, Jaxen and Ava Reichel; brother, Fred Matthes and wife, Janet; sisters, Margie Reinke and husband, Ken, and Gayla Matthes. She also leaves many loving relatives and friends who were very dear to her. The family would like to thank Russell Murray Hospice for their encouragement and help during the past couple of weeks. Viewing will be at Mercer-Adams Funeral Home. Services will be Friday, February 10th at 10:30am at the First Baptist Church of Bethany with interment in Spring Creek Cemetery.
