Obituary

Betty Jean (Baker) Jackson slipped from this life into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 22, 2024. Betty was born on January 15, 1943, in Cincinnati, OH, to Willard and Naomi Baker. She was a longtime resident of Bethany, OK, and a member of First Baptist Church of Bethany. Betty attended school in Ohio, graduating from Mason High School in 1961 and then attended college for two years. She worked most of her life in governmental office positions, which included overseas, and retired as a receptionist at the Oklahoma City/County Health Department.

Betty was an avid reader, listened to Christian music, sang, played the piano, and loved her dogs. Some of her favorite past times included eating out with family and friends, watching game and mystery TV shows, along with the Hallmark Channel. Betty loved talking to people and sharing stories about the time she lived in Germany. She sang in the choirs at both Council Road Baptist Church and then later at First Baptist Church of Bethany. Betty had a servant's heart. She volunteered in her church's children's ministry and kitchen preparing meals when she could and delivered Mobile Meals with her late husband, Bobby.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby R. Jackson Sr.; her parents, Naomi and Willard O. Baker Sr.; and her brother, Willard O. Baker Jr.

She is survived and will be greatly missed by her stepchildren, Ramona Jackson, Bobby Jackson, Jr. and wife Kari, and Cynthia (Cindy) Jackson; sisters-in-law, Yvonne Robertson and husband Keith, Jo Ann Sanders and husband David, and Billie Jackson; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren, along with a vast number of caring family and friends.
