Betty Esther Bloomer went to be with Jesus on Friday, August 18, 2023, at the age of 92. She was a long-time resident of Bethany, Oklahoma, and passed away at her home attended by her family. She was dearly loved by her family, and she will be remembered for her shining example of a life well lived. Betty was born in Catsby, Oklahoma on March 9, 1931, to Marion and Betty Ruby (Troutt) McFarland, and grew up in Elk City, Oklahoma. She and her older sister, Frances, were close all their lives, spending much of their latter years together. She attended Bethany Peniel College (now Southern Nazarene University) to receive her Home Economics degree. There she met her beloved husband, Dennis Bloomer. They were married on May 23, 1954, and went on to have four children. Betty was the ultimate homemaker and hostess, and she loved serving her church community, family, and friends. She spent her life serving Jesus by helping and feeding missionaries and evangelists, teaching at church, and lovingly caring for home and family. She was very kindhearted and had a great sense of humor. She loved to laugh, especially with her family. In her later years, she took up painting and often made hand-made gifts for family and friends. Betty is survived by three of her children, Gary, Deena, and Lynn; grandchildren, Mandy, Brad, Bryan, Sha, and Kyle; and great-grandchildren, Logan, Paisley, Molly, and Charlotte. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dennis Bloomer; her sister, Frances Bowman; and her second child, Joan Bloomer. The services for Betty will be held at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service, officiated by Rev. Lewis McClain, followed by a graveside gathering at Bethany Cemetery.
