Obituary

Betty Lee Caswell Benson, 89, of Edmond, OK, passed away on November 23, 2013. Betty was born in Kansas on January 21, 1924 to Alice (Mitchell) and Joe Caswell. She graduated from Woodruff High School and attended secretarial school in Wichita, Kansas. Betty was married to Benny (Francis) Benson on February 19, 1944; they were married 68 years. Betty was a dedicated mother and wife. She enjoyed languages and crocheting. She was also actively involved in the Methodist church and enjoyed singing in the choir. Betty had many wonderful friends. She loved the retirement years she spent in Naples, Florida. Betty is survived by her sons, Kent and James Benson; daughter-in-law, Kathy Benson; grandchildren, Jennifer and John Broker, Amanda and Kiel Johnson, Daniel and Lisa Benson, and Andrew Benson; and great grandchildren, Eliana Broker, Emalee Benson and Jacey Benson. Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Benny (Francis) Benson. The family will celebrate her life in December with immediate family only.
