Bettie Jane Barnes, 93, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 28, 2024, surrounded by her family at her home in Yukon, OK. She was born March 13, 1931 in Goose Creek, TX to Chester and Elizabeth (Rolfe) Brittian. She came to Bethany to attend Bethany Peniel College and met Bobby Barnes. They married on February 18, 1955 and shared nearly 65 blissful years together nurturing and loving their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Bettie often spoke about how blessed and thankful she was for her Christian heritage.

Bettie was a longtime active member of Meridian Park and Metroplex Churches of the Nazarene, most recently attending Lake Overholser Church of the Nazarene. She was a homemaker who loved sewing, knitting, crocheting and puzzle books. She and Bobby were active in the Pioneers Group and enjoyed traveling across the U.S. together.

Bettie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bobby. She is survived by her sons, Rick (Pam) Barnes and Mike (Donnetta) Barnes; grandchildren, Melodie (Bryan) Bucher and Joey (Alexis) Barnes; and great-grandchildren, Austin, David, Will, Macie and Maddie. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Viewing at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, November 3, 11am-8pm with family present from 5-7pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 4, 10:00am, at Lake Overholser Church of the Nazarene. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
