Bette Jean Jaro passed away August 15, 2018. She was born on September 15, 1936 to Kathryn and Carl Earnst in Enid, OK. In 1953 she married her high school sweetheart, Darrel Jaro. Together they traveled to New Jersey, Alaska, and Louisiana during his military career before settling back in Oklahoma City. Bette worked for several years for Farmers Union and Oklahoma Natural Gas. She was an avid reader and got her greatest enjoyment from her sons, granddaughters, great granddaughters, niece, and nephews. Bette was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 57 years. She is survived by her sister, Denise Thomas of Oklahoma City; sons, Dirk and Janis Jaro of Yukon, Glenn Jaro and Ray Elrod of Oklahoma City; granddaughters, Kristi Jaro of Houston, TX, Dana Salmon of Yukon, Carly and Luke King of Aledo, TX and Kyra and Jared Hilliard of Frisco, TX; great granddaughters, Cherokee, Bailey, MKynzee, Emilee, Kate, Madison, Laken, and Emory. She will be greatly missed by an abundance of family and friends from New York to California. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 20 in the Mercer-Adams Chapel.
