Obituary

Bernice Douglass Johnson, also known as Momo, was born to Emma Jane Brooks and Nephi Amulick Douglass on April 27, 1929 in Hazelton, ID and passed away in Oklahoma City on April 17, 2018. She was raised on a farm and the youngest of six children. Words cannot do this justice but she was a PTA president, apple pie maker, could sew anything you wanted without a pattern, hosted sleepovers, Camp Fire leader, and had more fun in 88 years than anyone could manage. Generous almost to a fault and was so very special to many, many people. Always innovative and entrepreneurial, she started Le Petit Jardin Ice Cream Parlour in 1964 as one of the first businesses to open in Shepherd Mall. In 1992, she opened the Family Dog Wash where she could teach pet owners how to groom and care for their animals and was a beloved dog groomer for over 20 years. Survived by her children, Michael and Christy Johnson, Mark and Portia Johnson, Mia and Russ Iden, Marla and Rick Miller, Michelle Zelrick, twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was ready to go but we werent. Memorial service will be Saturday, April 21, 11:00am at Mercer Adams Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family would suggest donations to the Oklahoma Humane Society.
