Bernadine "Baba" Brothers McPherson went home to be with the Lord on October 10th, 2019. She was born on April 18th, 1926 in Oklahoma City to Dewey and Nora Lyons Brothers. Bernadine was raised at 1110 North Kelley behind the old Childrens Hospital, attending Culbertson Elementary School, then later graduating from Oklahoma City Central High School. Though she graduated in 1944, Bernadine continued to be a true Cardinal her entire life. While working for Sohio Petroleum Company in Oklahoma City, she met her future husband, Royal "Mac" McPherson. They were both accountants but had to work in separate departments during that time, dating 12 years before getting married, and having to have permission from the company to do so. Mac & "Baba" were married for 40 happy years until his death in 2008. With no questions asked, Bernadine always gave her love, time, and money if it meant that it was helping someone. She never gave up on anyone. Though she never had any kids of her own, she always enjoyed having her nieces, nephews, and younger people around. Bernadine was a beautiful, shining light in this world. She is the last of our immediate family and will be greatly missed by all of those who loved and cared for her; not only her family, but by all her neighbors and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mac; her sister and brother-in-law, Geraldine & John W. Koban; and nephew, John D. Koban. She leaves behind her nieces, Carol Ann Jobe and husband David, Nancy Koban, Joanne E. Henning and husband Randy; great nephews, Ronnie Oldham, Mark Henning and wife Jessica, Timothy Henning and wife Heather; great-great nephews, Kendell Oldham, Michael Jobe and Jackson Henning; one great-great niece, Madeline Henning; one great-great-great niece, Kaylen Oldham. Honorary pallbearers are all her nephews.
Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 16, at Rose Hill Burial Park, with burial next to her husband Mac.
