Beatrice Kay
Shriver
May 18, 1946 — Jul 12, 2024
Beatrice "Bea" Shriver, 78, was called to her eternal resting place on July 12, 2024. She entered this world on May 18, 1946 in Waltham, MA, born to William and Edna (Randall) Hanson.
During her childhood, Bea lived in many places throughout the United States. She graduated high school in Pomona, California and attended college at Cal Poly Pomona. She married Rodney William Shriver on February 22, 1967 in Hastings, Michigan where they lived for several years. They were married 44 years. The family moved to Oklahoma City, OK in 1981, where Bea worked various jobs to help support the family while her husband got his electrical contractor's license. She eventually became the office manager for the Last Frontier Council of the Boy Scouts of America, a job she enjoyed with people she dearly loved. She retired from the Boy Scouts in 2014. After her retirement, Bea enjoyed attending her grandchildren's music concerts and sporting events and watching OU football and OKC Thunder basketball games.
Bea was a member of the Bible Missionary Church and later Williams Church of the Nazarene, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, church board secretary, and Nazarene Missions International President. She loved serving the Lord and her church family.
Bea is survived by her sister, Bernice (Hanson) Wilbanks of Monett, Missouri; son, Chad Shriver and wife Aundrea of Mustang, OK; son, Daryl Shriver and wife Tonya of Goodman, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Alexandrea, Ashlyn, Katelyn, Grace, Garrett, Claire, and Brock; great grandchild, Anna Jane; three grandsons-in-law, Josh, Austin, and Cory; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved.
She will be greatly missed by all who were privileged to know her.
