Barry W Brawley, our little brother, was born into a loving family of parents, Bob W. and Freda Brawley, and three big sisters, Peggy, Teresa, and Toni, on Sept. 29, 1965. He grew up in Cordell and graduated from Piedmont High School. Barry had a magnetic personality. He was doted on and, in return, he sincerely cared about those he was able to shine his light on. At 13, he became an uncle for the first time with 11 more times following and a 12th on the way. Barry knew all his 'kids'. At 18, Barry was headlined "WIZKID" by The Daily Oklahoman. He was the Manager of the McCain Brothers - Ben & Butch. In addition, Barry was the Producer for channel 4 McCain Brothers Early Morning Show where he booked Garth Brooks on Garth's first TV appearance. Most importantly, Barry scripted Ben McCain to announce the birth of each of Barry's nieces and nephews on live air! Later, he joined KOCO TV 5 and won an Emmy for his non-stop personal production coverage of the Murrah Bombing in 1995. What a proud family man Barry was. He adopted our husbands and sisters as they were joyfully added to the family, including brothers-in-law, Richard Findley, Vance Montgomery, Randy Nance, and Randy Ashley, and sisters, Sheila Brumfield (Ron) and Sharon Clardy (Kent). Barry was preceded in death by his Mother, nephew, Corey, and grandparents. Survivors include his sisters and their families, and his father, Bob Brawley. We all loved being around Barry with his charismatic ways, infectious laugh, and ornery childlike play that was so much fun in everything he did ~ work, play and love. Through his own caring nature and energetic ways, he influenced all of those people fortunate enough to be in his life's path. Barry cherished his family, business associates, and the many accolades piled upon him. It all came down to the basics: faith, family, and friends. We are happy that we had so many years. Services will be Saturday, May 18, 1:00pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel, Bethany, with interment at 4:00pm in Lawnview Cemetery, Cordell, OK.
