Barbara Helen White, 97, died April 3, 2017 in Oklahoma City, OK. She was born June 27,1919, to James Earl and Maud Alaine (Black) Medlock in Colony, OK. She grew up and went through school in Faxon, OK. Barbara traveled and lived across the US as well as in Japan before settling in Chickasha, OK where she married Sam P. White on June 27, 1964. Barbara was the owner of La Vogue Beauty Shop till 1974 when she and Sam retired to Lake Texoma. Together they enjoyed fishing and keeping a big garden near Newberry Creek. After Sam's passing in 1990, she moved to OKC to be near her daughter, Kathy. Barbara enjoyed reading and puzzles during the week and on Saturdays listening to live music with her friends at Ingrid's Restaurant. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy L. Neal and son-in-law, Randy A. Neal of Oklahoma City; grandson, Sean C. Thompson of San Diego, CA; granddaughter, Kaelyn M. Neal of Oklahoma City; and many nieces and nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and four sisters, Ila Mae Robertson, Bonnie Barnett, June Weldon, and Quinelle Wright. Known as "Helen" to her family and Barbara to her friends, she will always be remembered for her larger-than-life, unfiltered personality and enthusiasm for life. Private Services
