Barbara Janet Parker passed away on February 06, 2025 in Oklahoma City, OK, ending a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on March 29, 1945 in Shawnee, OK to Billy Andrew Dunn and Mildred Evelyn Taylor Dunn. She married her best friend, James B. Parker, Jr. on June 25,1979, in Oklahoma City, OK.

Barbara retired from the City of Oklahoma City Water Line Maintenance Department. She was active with AARP, the American Legion Auxillary and the IOOF (Rebekahs). She loved playing bingo with her daughter, Dawn, and going to the casino with daughter, Shelley. She enjoyed fishing and working in her yard and flower beds. She also loved to play pool and would challenge anyone to a game. Family was most important to her and she loved everyone deeply.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Billy Andrew Dunn and Mildred Evelyn Taylor Dunn; her beloved husband, James B. Parker, Jr.; and her brother, Willard D Packard.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Dawn Jones and Shelley Schmidt; son, Roman Harris; grandchildren, Jennifer, Amanda, Christle, Shaianne, and Morghann; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Delores Smith; best childhood friend and cousin, Sandy Stringer Doyle; and adopted daughter, Michelle. Barbara is leaving her best fur friend, Buddy, in the care of her daughter, Dawn. She also loved her grand puppies, Lucy, Daisy and Delilah.

The family would like to thank Dr. Sanjay Hapani with Oklahoma Cancer Center and his staff. We would also like to thank the lntegris Hospice House Staff and Hospice Home Care Staff for taking such amazing care of our mother.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, February 14 at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in IOOF Cemetery, Norman, OK. The funeral service will be livestreamed and may be viewed on this obituary page.
