Barbara J. (Skelton) Langley, age 79, left this world for her heavenly home on November 6, 2010. She was born July 21, 1931, in Hazel Valley, AR. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, sister, and husband of 53 years, Bert Langley.
In her youth, Barbaras family moved frequently. So much so that she vowed to marry a stationary man. Then she met the love of her life, Bert, whose job had them on the move more than 24 times from their marriage in 1949 until July 1968 when they settled down in Springdale, AR. They lived in the same home until Berts passing in 2002 with Barbara remaining there until 2006. She then moved to Yukon, OK to live with her daughter and son-in-law. She loved her church (she had the best Sunday school department in the world), her Eastern Star sisters, and Masonic brothers.
Those left behind waiting to meet her in glory with our soon coming King Jesus are a daughter, Lavella Jackson and husband Garry of Yukon, OK; two sons, Larry Langley and wife Brenda of Springdale, AR, and Rodney Langley and wife Adile of Hampton, VA. GG (as the great grandchildren liked to call her) had 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Two funeral services will be held: 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 11, Mercer Adams Chapel in Bethany, OK; and 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 12, Heritage Funeral Home, Springdale, AR with interment next to her beloved husband at Elm Springs Cemetery, Elm Springs, AR.
