Barbara Louise Campbell passed into the presence of our Lord on Friday, January 3, 2020. She was a very loved and respected wife, mother, grandmother and a treasured friend to many. Barbara was born in Wagoner, Oklahoma on May 20, 1934 to Ernest and Dorothy Bellah. She moved to the Bethany area where she graduated from Putnam City High School in 1952. It was during her high school years, Barbara met and married Ezra O. Campbell. They married March 2, 1951, and loved each other for 59 years.
After raising two boys, Barbara started back to school in the early 70's to obtain a college degree. She received a degree in English with a minor in Art from the University of Central Oklahoma and began a teaching career in the Deer Creek School system. Barbara continued her education, receiving a degree in Library Science. She was hired by the Putnam City School district and taught at Central Junior High, Central Intermediate, Overholser elementary and finally moved to the Library/Media position at PC West High School. Barbara taught there until retirement and enjoyed many years of working with students at all the schools.
Even after retiring, Barbara was rarely idle. She and Ez loved to travel and see new places. Branson was a favorite destination, especially at Christmas, and one they delighted in sharing with their young grandchildren.
Barbara also loved crafting, sewing and quilting. If you were lucky enough to receive a wedding, baby shower, birthday, or Christmas gift from her, it would often be one sewn with such love and care. Each of her grandchildren received a quilt made specifically for them on their sixteenth birthday.
Barbara was a member of the Putnam City Christian Church for several years where she sang in the choir and served with life long friends in various capacities. During the past few years, she found her church home at Western Oaks Christian Church.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son Dr. Timothy K. Campbell.
