Audrey Rodgers departed this life on January 30, 2010 at age 84. She was born November 25, 1925 in Ponca City, Oklahoma to Glen Hiram White and Lottie Emma Wright. Her family moved to Oklahoma City where Audrey went to Sequoyah and Putnam City Schools. She was married April 20, 1940 to Robert Riley Rodgers. They moved to Bethany, Oklahoma where they raised three children and started Bob Rodgers Garage and Wrecker Service in 1946. She ran the office for the family business and retired in 1974. She was a Sunday School Teacher at the First Baptist Church of Bethany and was a member of the Eastern Stars. She was active in Girl Scouts and later did volunteer work for the Bethany Senior Center. Audrey enjoyed traveling and belonged to Sooners camping club and Loners on Wheels (LOW) camping club. She cared for many elderly friends and relatives. She had affection for dogs and small lost animals. Audrey was loving, kind-hearted, and had a zest for life. Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 34 years, her brother James White, son-in-law Kenneth Cornett, granddaughter Angelia Rodgers Dunham, and great-granddaughter Abbey Cornett. She is survived by her sisters Helen Spangler and Juanita Ridgeway Cummings; daughter, Nancy Cornett; son, Robert R. Rodgers and wife Reba; daughter, Arlene (Rodgers) Waters and husband Rodger; 8 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, February 3, 2010, 1:00 p.m. at Mercer-Adams Chapel, Bethany. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels Bethany Kiwanis, 4600 N. College, Bethany, OK 73008.
