Artie Lee McDermott, 87, of Oklahoma City, passed away August 1, 2013. Artie was born June 22, 1926 to Wesley and Doll (Foreman) Bush in Boswell, Oklahoma. She graduated from Wetumka High School and later earned accreditation as a Licensed Practical Nurse. During World War II, she supported the military efforts as a welder building Kaiser ships. She retired from Mercy Hospital after 20 years of service. She was a parishioner at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and was married for 49 years to James L. (Larry) McDermott, who preceded her in death in 1995. She is survived by four children, Terry McDermott and wife Carol, Carol Goff and husband Gary, and Tom McDermott, all of Oklahoma City, and Michael McDermott and wife Peggy, of Baton Rouge, LA; 11 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by grandson, Christopher; husband, Larry; daughter, Marjorie; and sister, Mavon. Viewing is at Mercer-Adams Sunday and Monday, Aug. 4 and 5. Services are at St. Charles at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2013, with Interment in Memorial Park Cemetery.
