Obituary

Arthur "R2" LeFlore, Sr. was born in Talihina, Oklahoma on August 3, 1941 and passed from this Earth on November 11, 2015, Veteran's Day. Art was a Marine Corpsman and volunteered for three tours in Vietnam. During his time in the service, he saved multiple lives, volunteered to jump out of a helicopter onto the burning deck of the USS Forestall, and trained to perform rescue duties on the frogmen that recovered manned spacecraft for NASA. After returning home from Vietnam, he married Linda Lou Cotton, who is now deceased. From this union, they had two children. After the service, Art was a nurse at a Veteran's hospital, an EMT and finally a small business owner of a flooring service. R2 was a proud member of the Vietnam Vets/Legacy Vets Motorcycle Club and Associates for over twenty-five years. R2 rode his motorcycle until the minute that the doctors told him that he was legally blind (he had ridden to the doctor's office for the appointment). When Art could no longer ride himself, he modified motorcycles to drag race on dirt. As a race team owner, he competed with three drag bikes over many years and loved going to every event. R2 loved and was beloved by his Club Brothers and Sisters the world over. Arthur was a Choctaw Indian, an avid outdoors man, an animal lover (the proud parent of three loving and spoiled dogs), a constant joker, a wandering traveler, a fan of the Oklahoma City Thunder, OU football and NASCAR, and known for his sage advice and knowledge. Arthur was preceded in death by his father, Wilmond, mother, Lillie, and seven brothers and sisters. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann; son, "Little" Art; daughter, Danielle; grandchildren, Destiny, Jonah, Rebecca and Sally; great grandchild, Damon; stepsons, Scott, Robert and Monte; brothers, Jeff and Lynn; as well as a multitude of nieces and nephews.
