Arthur Daniel Byers Jr., 65, of Oklahoma City, passed away on Monday, July 12, 2010. Art was born in Oklahoma City and lived in many places while growing up in a military family. At age 18, Art joined the U.S. Army serving 4 years in Germany. After the military, Art worked at Fred Jones Manufacturing before founding Byers Corporation with his two brothers. Arts favorite pastime was restoring classic cars, and traveling in his RV. Art was a quiet leader and a source of strength to his family and employees. He was a friend to many, and quick to offer encouraging words or a strong helping hand. Art was a wonderful husband and loving father who cherished spending time with his granddaughter. Art is survived by his wife of 27 years, Connie; his son, Jeff and daughter-in-law Sharon; his granddaughter Alex; his sister Darlene; his brothers, Richard and Tom; and many nieces and nephews. Art was preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice; father Art Sr.; and beloved pets, Pierre, FeFe, and Angel. Funeral Services will be held Saturday July 17, 10:00am at Mercer-Adams Chapel, 3925 N. Asbury, Bethany 495-4363.
