Anna Mae McCanlies passed from this life Tuesday morning, March 2, 2010, at St. Anns Home at the age of 93. She was born April 15, 1916 in Bethany, OK to F.E. and Anna Brown. Her brothers and sisters included Elmer, Bernice Selkins, Charity Rosecrans and John T., all deceased. She lived her entire life in Bethany where she also attended and graduated from Bethany High School. She was a wonderful cook and loved to feed her family and friends. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crafts of all kinds and gardening. She was active in local flower clubs and enjoyed playing canasta and card games with her friends. She was married to Jeff McCanlies on November 20, 1937 and they remained happily married 59 years until Jeffs death in 1996. Before they retired they owned and operated Mels Donuts, a retail/wholesale bakery located in N.E. Oklahoma City. Anna Mae is survived by her two sons, Victor and Warren. Victors surviving family, along with his wife Ele, includes his son Jeff, his daughter Angie Simonton, her husband Andrew, their son Scott, Angies daughter Miranda and Mirandas son Kane. Warrens surviving family includes his son Dylan and his wife Heidi and their son Ashley Elijah. Also surviving is nephew Jack McCanlies and his wife Cheryl and their families. Anna Mae is also survived by Rosie Brown and her daughters Shelia and Barbara and Barbaras children and their children and Rosies son Phillip and his wife Denise and their daughters and their children. Also included as survivors are Annas first cousin Neil and Ann Brown. Also surviving Anna is a first cousin Deck Woldt of TX. Anna Mae was greatly loved and will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. Services will be held at St. Anns Nursing Home Chapel, Saturday, March 6, 2:00 p.m.
