Obituary

Anna C. DiGiantomasso died December 10, 2010, nine days short of her 83rd birthday. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Angelo (Red). She is the beloved mother of Pasquale, Little Red, Angelo, Thomas, Adina, and Joseph; mother-in-law to Lynn, Laura, Frances, Deborha and Diana; grandmother of 16; and great-grandmother of 15. Born in Queens, New York, in 1927, Anna worked as a seamstress. When she started dating Angelo, they would meet at the roller rink where they would roller dance the evening away. She married Angelo on November 4, 1951. She loved to knit, crochet and play bingo. In 1967, after the birth of her children, she moved to Central Islip, New York, where her family and friends named her Bingo Annie for her avid love of the game which she played until she lost her eye sight. She also taught her children how to play dodge ball. She moved to Bethany in 1995 with her husband. In 1996, she battled cancer and beat it. During her life she always had a soft spot in her heart for wayward children, never turning any away whether for a meal or a place to sleep. While living in Bethany, she was nicknamed Mama Angelo. Her life was her husband, her children, and her church. She will be loved and missed by all. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, December 15, 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with interment in Bethany Cemetery. BINGO!
