Ann Nance was a remarkable woman. Her artistic ability found expression in oil painting, ceramics, eggury, sewing and many other areas. Her love for children was expressed through her teaching in Sunday School, Sunbeams, Vacation Bible School, Cub Scouts, Northeast Recreation Center preschool and Dewey Elementary School, where she taught Special Education students. She faced challenges head-on. She could make any kind of costume or formal dress. She got her drivers license in her late 30s and started college when she was 44. She went on to earn Bachelors and Masters degrees. After she retired from teaching, she took up bowling, water aerobics and oil painting.
