Obituary

Anissa Carol (May) Lott, 55, passed away March 18, 2024, in Oklahoma City. She was born September 26, 1968, in Tulsa, OK to Billy and Sharon (Teague) May. They raised two daughters, Anissa and Laura, and eventually earned the titles of Nana and Papa to six grandchildren.

Anissa graduated from Putnam City North H.S. in 1986. She attended OSU, OU, then Central State University, where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in Accounting in 1991. She later attended Oklahoma City University and earned an MBA with a concentration in Marketing while studying for, and eventually passing, the CPA exam.

After dating through college, she married her lifetime partner and best friend from high school, Dean Lott, on May 25, 1991, just days after graduating. They were married for over 32 years, and they had three beautiful, sweet children: Kinley, Kelton, and Kadyn.

Anissa will be best remembered for her love and care for her family, as she was involved in everything that her children were part of, such as band, drama, and choir. She served as the Treasurer for the high school Drama Department, continuing even after her children were no longer involved in drama. She was everything to her kids – guidance counselor, banker, scheduler, alarm clock, and therapist, among many other things.

Anissa's most memorable quote came from her hospital bed the day before she died when she told her husband, "If anything happens to me, tell the kids I love them. Tell my parents they were the best parents ever. And pay Kadyn's tuition so she can enroll for next semester."

Anissa is survived by her husband, Dean; children, Kinley (23), Kelton (21), and Kadyn (19); parents, Billy and Sharon May; sister, Laura (Mel) Combs and their children, Knox, Kennedy, and Keaton; sister-in-law, Lanora (Mark) Schwartz and their children, Kalli and Kortney; sister-in-law, Laura (John) Swabb, and her children, Kimberly and Kirby; brother-in-law, Darryl (Boon) Lott and their children, Daniel and Katherine; and, brother-in-law, Dale Lott.

Anissa's memory will forever be cherished by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your local animal shelter.

Graveside services will be private, but the family will be present for visitation at Mercer-Adams on Friday, March 23, from 4-6pm.
