Amy Gayle Clausen, 83, our beloved mother, died June 27, 2017 in Oklahoma City. She was born August 31, 1933 in Clever, Mo. to Leroy Brown and Helen (Louis) Brown. She married Edwin Dean Clausen on April 12, 1952 and he preceded her in death in 2008. She started a nursing career in 1969, with her first job at Baptist ER, where she established lifelong relationships and thrived on patient care. After retiring, she became internationally known as "Gayledolls," for her expertise in hand crafted 1" and 1/4" scale dolls, which became a joy in her life as she developed remarkable friendships along the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Jerry. Survivors include sons, Jeff Clausen and wife Janell, Mark Clausen and wife Amanda; daughter, Jayme Howard and husband Tom; 4 grandchildren, Matthew, Hunter, Holt and Hayes; brother, Leroy "Bud" Brown. Viewing will be Sunday, 11am-9pm, with family present from 5-7pm at Mercer-Adams. Services will be Monday, July 3, 2:00pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment following in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
