Obituary

Amanda Grace Talafuse was born December 11, 1987. She was not due until the 15th, but she came early. And that was Amanda, always early to the party. She had so much to give that we dont know how God managed to contain it in one body! She was kind and generous, and loved every single person. That wasnt something she learned or developed it was just in her. It was who she was. Amanda grew up in Rosenberg, TX, and made a decision early in life for Christ. She graduated from Terry High School, where she was part of Fellowship of Christian Athletes, National Honor Society and choir, just to list a few. She had a beautiful singing voice. After high school, Amanda attended Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, OK, graduating with a Music Business degree. While there, she was again involved in everything humanly possible, including choir. She loved to sing! It seems that everyone on campus knew Amanda. She was a very clever, comical girl and was voted "Funniest Female" her senior year. Amanda never let a lonely person sit alone in the cafeteria, always inviting them into her life. She worked with the homeless people of Oklahoma City, and volunteered at an AIDS hospice organization. She kept blankets, food and clothing in the trunk of her car, always ready to offer a bit of love and comfort to homeless people she met on the street. After college, Amanda volunteered with organizations that focused on at risk youth. She just never stopped giving. At the time of her death, she was working as an educator for the County Health Department. She loved her students. They knew it, and they loved her right back. We dont know how long we have in this life, but the Bible tells us that God knows the number of our days. Through the grace of God, Amanda made every precious day of her life count for something good. Amanda is survived by her parents, Joe and Jana Talafuse; younger brother, Joseph Talafuse, III; younger sister, Reba Talafuse, all of Rosenberg and Houston, TX; and by many, many aunts, uncles , cousins, wonderful neighbors, and friends too numerous to count. We thank them all for their love and support. We express a special thank you to Amandas friend Steffi and her husband and children, for making Auntie Amanda a member of their family.
