Obituary

Amanda Brene Starkey Carson was born February 5th, 1979 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. Mandy was the one and only spirited daughter of Cheryle and Dee Starkey. Mandy attended Mayfield Junior High where she met her future husband, Cory Carson. She later graduated from Putnam City West High School, Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City, where she served as president of the Alpha Pi Nu chapter of Phi Theta Kappa and the University of Oklahoma with the cum laude distinction, where she also pledged as an Alpha Chi Omega sister. After graduating from the University of Oklahoma with honors, Mandys dynamic career in advertising took flight with Yellowbook where she was quickly promoted to National Trainer and District Manager. After getting just a glimpse of the magnitude of the wonders, joys, and commitment of motherhood, Mandy placed her career on hold to stay home and dedicate herself fully to raising her beloved little ladies. She spent countless hours serving mankind as well as her furry friends with Pets and People, Gear Up Tutoring, the Mighty Acorn Foundation, and several other volunteer programs. She brought so many smiles to all of the parents, staff, and children at Bella and Brinleys schools while she graciously gave her time to Yukon Public Schools and FUMC of Yukon. Most recently, she enjoyed working with her precious 4 year old preschool group at First United Methodist Church of Yukon. Mandy and Cory were married in 2006, and made their home in Yukon, Oklahoma for the next decade, where they thoroughly enjoyed raising their two beautiful and brilliant daughters, Bella and Brinley. Mandy was taken from this earth on December 31st, 2016 at the age of 37. She was preceded in death by her kindred maternal grandmother, Betty Hoyer; her paternal grandparents, Elmer and Agnes Starkey; and her brother, Chris Starkey. She is survived by her hard-working husband, Cory Carson; precious daughters, Bella and Brinley; her adoring parents, Cheryle Bundy and husband Ken, doting Dee Starkey and wife Reta; dignified grandfather, Kenneth Hoyer; as well as her treasured niece and nephews, Toni Starkey-Phillips, Bobby Starkey, and Tim Starkey. Mandy is also survived by her amazing aunts and uncles, Jan White, Kenny Hoyer and wife Alice; and many outstanding Starkey cousins, as well as several matchless maternal cousins, Cindy White Andrews, Kendra Paiva, Todd Hoyer, Zach Hoyer, and Kim Myers. Funeral Service Tuesday, January 10, 2017 01:30 PM Church of the Servant 14343 MacArthur Oklahoma City, OK 73162
