Alvin Lee Armstrong, 83, of Yukon, passed away May 7, 2011 in Oklahoma City. He was born April 17, 1928 in McAlester, Oklahoma to Arthur W. and Margaret E. Armstrong. He served in the Army, part of the 45th Military Police Company out of Atoka, Oklahoma during the Korean War. He was a member of the Anglican Church of the Holy Cross. He worked at the Veterans Hospital in Oklahoma City, was a biological laboratory technician in the Department of Comparative Pathology at the Naval Aerospace Medical Research Laboratory in Pensacola, Florida, and retired after 12 years from the Federal Reserve Bank in Oklahoma City. Alvin loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his family, friends, football, gardening, and his dog. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Robert William, Leonard Clifton and Lester Dale, and 1 sister, Virginia Charlene Workman. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Wyoline; his son David Paul; brothers, Jimmy Ray and Harold Wayne; sister, Geneva Aline Evans; aunt Gereatha Rayburn; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Services will be Thursday, May 12, 2:00pm at Anglican Church of the Holy Cross with interment following in Yukon Cemetery.
