Alma Renna (Holcombe) Harper, 96, went to be with her Lord on November 1, 2010 at home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Born February 9, 1914 in Bentonville, Arkansas, she was the youngest of twelve children of John Y. and Ruth Hannah (Darby) Holcombe. She was married to Ray E. Harper on August 24, 1941. Ray and Alma farmed at Rose Hill, Kansas for many years where they raised their family. In addition to farming, she was a cook and upholsterer for many years. She loved to cook for family and friends. Interests included gardening and needlework. Alma accepted Jesus as her Savior at a young age and was a faithful servant throughout her lifetime. She attended Bible study and church at Forest Hill Christian Church regularly until her recent ill health. Alma is survived by sons Thomas Raymond (Vivian) Harper of Oklahoma City, William Lee (Janet) Harper of Ft. Worth; daughters Oma Ruth (Dan) Schrag of Colorado Springs and Alma Gay (Dennis) Gunter of Newalla, OK; and daughter-in-law Connie Marie (Dowers) Harper of Milton, KS; sixteen grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband and son Dale Leon Harper. Funeral services will be Friday, November 5, 10:00am at Forest Hill Christian Church in Oklahoma City with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery, Mount Hope, Kansas, Saturday at 11:00am.
