Obituary

Allyson Ann Rowden of Hobbs, New Mexico, born November 26, 1974, left her earthly home September 13, 2021, to enter her forever home in heaven. Allyson is survived by her husband, Curtiss Rowden; daughter, Cassie Lunsford (husband James); sons, Scotty, Carson & Cooper Laughlin; her 3 grandsons, Aiden, Adrian and Avery Lunsford; her mother, Fay Stephens (husband Ken); father, Jesse Maya Sr; sister, Traci Baird (son Brayden); sister, Tina Maya; sister, Angie Maya (husband Robbie); brother, Jesse Maya Jr. (wife Tara); several nieces and nephews; and a host of family, extended and friends that are like family. Allyson attended Taylor Elementary School and graduated from Hobbs High School in 1992. She attended Southern Nazarene University where she was a part of the Chorale Singing group. She worked as a long-term substitute teacher at Western Oaks Middle School and was the Gifted and Talented teacher at Western Oaks and Mayfield Middle School where she formed lasting relationships with so many of the students and families. Every where she went, she was light and life. Allyson was always involved in all her childrens activities ranging from little league sports all the way through High School sports. She was always there and was their loudest and proudest fan. She adored her kids and her grandbabies and was the best Honey around. She loved to sing, didnt matter what kind of song, she would sing it. She loved Harry Potter and loved owls. She loved listening to her Scotty and Cassie play the piano and loved listening to Scotty play his guitar. To say she loved music was an understatement. She loved to watch Carson play football and she was the loudest fan in the stands, and watching him wrestle too, even if it was all day and he wrestled for 10 minutes and won she wouldnt have missed it for the world. Watching Cooper play baseball and wrestle was something else she loved, again the loudest fan in the stands and never missed a game for any of her kids. Most of all she loved her children with every ounce of love she had. Ally is leaving a significant void in the lives of those that loved her, and she will live on in our hearts.
