Obituary

Allyn Weyland Pepper passed into heaven surrounded by a host of family and friends on March 30, 2015 after a short battle with brain cancer. Allyn was born on January 22, 1965 in Johnson, Kansas to Laurence LaVere and Shirley Yvonne Pepper. He attended Big Bow Grade School, Stanton County Middle School and Stanton County High School. While in High School, Allyn was a star basketball player and still holds several basketball records. He also participated in many band and choir concerts. Allyn attended and became a member of Bethel Church of the Nazarene in Johnson, Kansas. While in school, Allyn also helped his dad on the family farm. After graduating, Allyn pursued a basketball career at Bethany Nazarene College/Southern Nazarene University where he was given a full ride basketball scholarship and played all four years. Allyn currently holds several records at SNU as well. Allyn graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration in May of 1987. On August 1st of 1987, Allyn married his high school sweetheart and they began life together. Allyn and Karen made their home in Johnson, Kansas for several years before moving to Oklahoma City. Allyn and Karen have owned their own business for 20 years now. From their marriage came two children, Kiel and Kendra. Allyn was a character and made life interesting for all those involved. The memories made by the family will never be forgotten. Allyn had a passion for spreading the gospel and taught many bible studies, Sunday school classes, small groups and supported countless Christian organizations. Allyn and his family have been members of Victory Church OKC for many years. Allyn continued to strive for perfect health in life as he trained and participated in countless runs and biking events. As illness fell on him he still had the dream of participating in the IronMan triathalon series, even registering and paying entry fees for future events. Allyn is now whole and healed and racing in heaven. Allyn is survived by his wife, Karen, of the home; son, Kiel, 25, of Oklahoma City; daughter, Kendra, 20, also of Oklahoma City. He is also survived by his parents, LaVere Pepper and Yvonne Pepper of Johnson, Kansas. Allyn's life celebration will be Saturday, April 4 at 2:00 p.m. at Victory Church, 4300 N MacArthur, Warr Acres, Oklahoma. Family visitation will be after the celebration service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Allyn W Pepper Memorial Fund at First Bethany Bank and Trust, Bethany, Oklahoma.
