On February 16, 2008, a bright spark entered this world, and Allison took her first breath in Enid, Oklahoma. She was the firstborn of four children to Philip and Elissa DeLong. Her parents brought her home to the perfectly prepared pink nursery, yet she did not stay there long; travel and adventure were already in her blood. Her daddy is active-duty military, and she moved to Ohio, Alabama, Yukon and Owasso, Oklahoma, and Vermont in her short life. She spent her fourteen years experiencing life to the fullest with family, including cross country camping trips and visiting more states than can be mentioned here. During the summer of 2021, Allison went with just her Mom and Dad to Hawaii, where she became dive certified. She loved playing in the ocean, swimming in lakes, and exploring! However, Allison loved Jesus and people more than her adventures. Jesus captivated her heart, and in December 2018 she asked Him to be her Lord and Savior. Her joy of the Lord was expressed in her interactions with others. Allison was known as a mother hen to her three younger siblings, whom she commonly referred to as "the children!" Her family loved to laugh about this, as Allison was still a child herself. Allison lit up every room she walked into with her beautiful and contagious smile. Her sunshine was sincere as she befriended anyone and everyone. She made a point of making sure her classmates felt loved. She never judged anyone based on beliefs, looks, or styles. Recently, her big heart found a fellow student who had no money for a Halloween costume; she warmly and generously took her friend shopping with her own money so she could celebrate the season with the perfect costume. She was a peacemaker, and simply put: she had a heart of gold. Her legacy lives on as she inspired and encouraged her friends, family, and classmates. Her light continues to shine today in the lives of people she never met, for she was an organ donor and able to improve and provide life to others despite her tragic passing. She also loved building, engineering, and had just started to get active in volleyball. She was full of life and beautiful on the inside and out. Her family is confident they will see her smile and her perfect and precious face again one day in heaven. They will never grow tired of recounting their time together with precious memories and pictures. Allison will be incredibly missed and is survived by her parents, Philip and Elissa DeLong; siblings, Elijah (11), Brinlee (9), and Neely (7); her great-grandmother, Pat Parker; her great-grandfather, Robert Bumpus; her grandparents, Phil and Laronda DeLong, Sandi and Keith Brewer, Karee Brinlee; her uncle Chad and aunt Lauren Dorough; uncle David and aunt Katie Brinlee; lastly her cousins, Lillian Dorough, and Hayden, Noah, and Emma Brinlee. Viewing will be Tuesday, April 19 from 9am-8pm with family present 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service. Service will be 2:00pm, Wednesday, April 20 at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene with interment to follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens. .
