Obituary

The Lord received Allen Leon Moslander into his heavenly home Monday, July 27, 2015, after passing away at OU Medical Center following a stroke. Allen was born August 11, 1926 to Arnold and Iva Moslander. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Sandy (Wilson) Moslander; son, Lee Moslander of OKC; father-in-law, Roy Wilson of Hunter, OK; 2 brothers-in-law and 3 sisters-in-law whom he dearly loved. Allen is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; brothers, Dale and Phil Moslander; sister, Noda Menefee; and daughter, Nanci Moslander. Allen received his Bachelor of Industrial Arts from OCU in 1966. He was a much sought after paper hanger and custom texturer. Allen then entered the insurance adjusting field. He worked his first insurance claim in 1952. He joined Groves & Powers, Inc. in 1964. He became a partner of the company on January 1, 1983, taking ownership of the company in 1985 and incorporating the company at a later date. For more than 40 years, Allen and Sandy worked together to make Groves & Powers a success. Lee joined Groves & Powers in 1982 as an adjuster and later joined the management. Allen was an active member of Forest Hill Christian Church. Allen and Sandy were involved in Mobile Meals as part of Forest Hill ministry. Allen loved his church family dearly and was loved by them. Allen enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to YMCA swimming group. Allen's main hobby was videoing important events for friends and family. He loved to travel. His favorite was cruising and especially his River Cruise through Europe. Viewing will be Wednesday, 1-9pm, with family present from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams. Celebration of life will be Thursday, July 30, 10:00am at Forest Hill Christian Church with interment in Sunny Lane Cemetery, Del City. Donations can be made in Allen's name to Forest Hill Christian Church Building Fund or REFRESH MINISTRY, refreshministry.org.
