Alexander "Alex" Hendrik Gulikers departed from us on December 4, 2014 at the age of 25, at the home of his grandparents in Oklahoma City. Alex was the only child born to Rick Gulikers and Eva Turner. He was born on June 8, 1989. He was preceded in death by his father, Rick, and survived by his mother, Eva and his grandparents Leo and Irene Gulikers and Tom and Doris Turner, all of Oklahoma City. He also leaves behind a multitude of extended family and friends. Alex, born in Oklahoma City, was brought up in Bethany, Ok, and also lived for a short time in Chandler, Ok. He graduated from Bethany High School in May of 2008 and he said that was the best day of his life! Although Alex had many obstacles to overcome, his zest for life helped him preserve. His strong, courageous heart and his love for his family and friends saw him through. His greatest joys in his life were his family, friends, his beloved pets and karaoke! He absolutely loved a good country duet with his buddies! He was even learning to play the guitar. Alex loved auto racing and strived to restore vintage cars, a hobby he enjoyed with his dad and had a great knack for. Alex will be missed beyond words, but smile whenever you see a beautiful old vintage car or a feisty pit bull pup and think of him. Maybe if you listen you will even hear him laugh, his greatest gift to us. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 10 at 11:00am at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church.
