Alda Adell Groom, 89, passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2011, in Oklahoma City, OK. Alda was born September 24, 1921, in Bristow, OK, to Albert and Lilly (Cordelius Pierce) Spencer. Alda is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Norma Lee Maggard of Richardson, Texas. She is survived by her husband, Donald K. Groom; sons Glenn Groom of Oklahoma City, OK, Neil Groom of Bristow, OK, and Kelly Groom of Bristow, OK; grandchildren, Darla McConville of Oklahoma City, Davin and wife Gayla Groom of Tulsa, OK, Kyndel and husband Drew Waters of Broken Arrow, OK, Megan Groom of Irvine, CA, Darin Groom of Bristow, OK, Brandon Groom of Bristow, OK, Nicholas and wife Ralena Groom of Bristow, OK, and Lindsey and husband Curtis Mayberry of Bristow, OK; five great-grandchildren; and church family and lots of friends. The family would like to express special thanks to Barbara Giager, retired RN, for all her assistance and support. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00pm Sunday, March 13, 2011, at Central Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 4747 N.W. 63rd, Oklahoma City, OK, with interment in Bristow Cemetery at 4:00pm.
