Obituary

Albert Lowery, 85, of Oklahoma City, passed away June 6, 2016 of pancreatic cancer at home with his family by his side. He was the son of Benjamin and Bessie (Hull) Lowery. His mother passed away when he was 4, so his sisters and brothers helped raise him. He attended Northeast High School. As a young teen, he worked with his father delivering ice. In 1951, he met and married the love of his life, Carolyn Ann Crump. He was immediately drafted into the Army and proudly served in the Korean War and in Japan. When he returned in 1953, he worked as a Colonial Bread Man and then started a roofing company. Through some guidance from his brother, Frank Lowery, he then became a prominent and well respected homebuilder and later a developer of residential housing additions, building over 2500 homes in OKC and across the state. After his early retirement in 1973, he took up golf and traveling in his RV. He loved his golf buddies at Lake Hefner Golf Club. His travels took him across America in an RV or just to Lake Eufaula with the kids and extended family. They were members and officers of the Rollin Okie Motorhome Club where he met some of his dearest friends to golf with and play gin. He was preceded in death by his parents, 7 siblings, and his mother-in-law, Mimi. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Carolyn; 3 children, Debbie Lowery and partner Teresa Walters, Tammy Beard and husband Mark, Mike Lowery and wife Lisa; 9 grandchildren, Chris, Gary, Brandy, Matthan, Leah, Isabella, Connor, Luke, and Jenny; and 3 great-grandchildren, Skye, Carter and Gavin. Also his loving sister, Jeanne Carson. Funeral Service Tuesday, June 14, 2016 10:00 AM Mercer-Adams Chapel 3925 N. Asbury Bethany, OK 73008
