Albert L. Garver, Jr., 80, passed peacefully into the waiting arms of his Lord on Thursday, November 20, 2008 surrounded by his loving family. A devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he will be missed deeply by all those whose lives he touched. Albert was born in Oklahoma City in 1928. After high school, he took over the family business, Garver House Moving, which he ran until his retirement in 1988. Shortly before going to serve during the Korean War, he married his wife of 58 years, Dolores. They were married in Linwood United Methodist Church, where they remained members. They had three children, Albert III, Tracy, and Tina. Albert and Dolores were always together; you never saw one without the other being close by. They shared many wonderful times with the most important thing to them ~ family and close friends.
Albert is survived by his wife, Dolores; his son Tracy, and his daughter Tina and husband Gary; grandchildren Richard & Robin, Stacy, Toby great-grandchildren Tyler, Pazley, Korbyn, and Caitlyn; sister Faye Peggy; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Albert was preceded in death by his parents Albert Sr. and Jessie; his brother Robert; and his son Albert III. We want to thank all of Alberts friends and family for all their love and support throughout his life and his struggle. Special thanks to the wonderful people from City Hospice for helping to make his passing as peaceful as possible. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimers research or to City Hospice.
Services will be Tuesday, November 25, 2008, 10:00 a.m. at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Memorial Park Cemetery.
