Obituary

Alannah Bullocks Callies, 26, passed away February 20, 2021. She was born in Topeka, KS to Cavis and Carolyn Callies on November 30, 1994. Alannah graduated from Putnam City High School in 2013. She loved theatre and was heavily involved in the drama club. After graduation, she attended the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. Alannah had a contagious joy that she shared with everyone she came in contact with. She accepted everyone as they were and opened her heart to so many with unconditional love. She had a special way of making things funny and paying attention to the small details that made one feel important. She loved to laugh and wrestle with her brothers, saying and doing just the right things to antagonize them so they would rough-house or retaliate with some other crazy antic. She loved music immensely and went on many "bad child gang" car rides with her sister and had late night talks with all of her siblings and mom as often as possible. Alannah hated shopping, but every single Black Friday she stayed out all night with her mom to help her decide on gifts, stay awake and be goofy. She had an unselfishness that wanted to make others happy and showed that by doing things like getting a blistering sunburn from staying out all day in the Colorado sun just to ride in a slingshot with her dad. Through the misery of the burn, she kept saying she would do it all again to experience that ride to celebrate Father's Day. She did her best to relate to everyone and make them feel understood and accepted. Everywhere she went she gave compliments to people. If you were checking out with her at a store, she wanted to compliment the cashier on their hair or make-up. If you were driving in a fast-food drive-thru, she would make you tell the window person how pretty their eyes were. She wanted people to see in themselves the positive things she saw. You were safe with Alannah to be yourself. She loved Disney and Marvel and debated about the movies with her brothers and sang Disney songs to the children she cared for in daycare. Age never caused her to lose her sense of child-like wonder. Her dream came true to visit Disney World in 2017 and she cried tears of joy when she saw the fireworks at the Cinderella Castle and rode the Little Mermaid ride. She had a special gift for caring for children and they were drawn to her. There was not a child on earth that Alannah did not want to express her love for; her dream had been to have a huge home to be able to care for many children. When she thought of starting a family in the future, her desire had been to adopt children as her grandparents had. We know that Alannah would want us to celebrate the laughter and love we had with her and to remember she will be our welcoming committee once we join her one day in heaven. She recently shared many times with her family how at peace she was in God's presence when she listened to worship music and it is our comfort that she will never have to leave that again. Alannah was preceded in death by her grandfather, John Shatswell; great-grandparents, Dorothy and DeWayne Hicks; and great-grandmother, Mary Callies. She is survived by her parents; brothers, Cavis Isaiah Callies and Zachary Seth Callies; and sister, Jaiden Nichole Callies. Viewing will be Friday, February 26, 12-8pm at Mercer-Adams. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 27, 10:00am at Victory.Church with interment in Yukon Cemetery.
