She was born December 22, 1931, in St. Lucas, Iowa to Karl Kuennen and Frances (Reicks) Kuennen. Aggie graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Oelwein, Iowa. In 1953 she married Marion Vargason in Oelwein. They were married 64 years till his death in 2018. They lived in Iowa till they moved to Oklahoma City in 1962. In 1968 they moved to Bethany with their five children. Aggie lived in that home for 55 years.
Aggie was a firm believer in Jesus Christ and was always eager to share her faith with others. Through the years she was in many prayer groups to pray for others' needs.
Aggie is survived by her children, Steven, Cynthia (Dennis) Rice, Brian, Aaron and Randall; her grandchildren, Natasha and Tesia Vargason, Mary (Joshua) Turnage, Sarah Rice, David (Laura) Rice; and step grandson, Dennis Rice II; her great grandchildren, Jameson and Calliope Turnage; and great great granddaughter, Kaylee Rice. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion; and her siblings, Adolph, Urban, Herbert, Rene, Luke, Alice, Alvera and Kathryn; and her parents.
She was an avid sports fan, especially the Dallas Cowboys, OU, OSU football and Thunder basketball. Her grandchildren have many vivid memories of her enthusiasm during the games. Also, they enjoyed sleepovers, picking peaches, watching movies and playing cards and various activities she made fun. Aggie also loved growing flowers and spent many happy hours tending to her gardens.
Viewing will be from 10:00am to 8:00pm on Tuesday, January 23 at Mercer-Adams Funeral Service. Her funeral service will be at Mercer-Adams Chapel on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. with interment following at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
