Adeline Elsie York, 75, died October 14, 2010. She was born August 28, 1935 in South Heart, North Dakota to Joe and Phyllis (Splichal) Novotny. She worked in the deli at several Skaggs-Albertsons locations. She was a member of Happy Tracks and Silver Spur square dance clubs, and also enjoyed crafts, crocheting, cooking and canning garden vegetables and fruits. She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Asbury J. York.
Adeline is survived by her two sons, Alvis Sr. and his wife Sandra, Ft. Cobb, OK, Greg and his wife Angela, Newport Beach, CA; 6 grandchildren, Jesse York and wife Christy, Cody Scrivner and wife Richelle, Buck Scrivner and wife JoAnna, A.J. York, Jr., Kari York, Pete York; 4 great-grandchildren, Cody Scrivner, Madison York, Jesse York, Jr., Abigayle Scrivner; sisters Arlene Traylor, Valley, AL, and Carol Martin and husband Drew, Green Valley, MO; brother, Ed Novotny and wife Leona, Dickinson, ND; friend and companion of 9 years, Joe Manek; his children, Joe Alan Manek and wife Vickie, Susan Johnson and husband Randy; Joes siblings, Mary Ellen Fortelney and husband Leo, Evelyn Fugate, and Larry Higdon and wife Kay, and their families; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including devoted square dance friends.
Funeral services will be Mon., Oct. 18, 10:00am at Mercer-Adams Chapel with interment in Chapel Hill.
